Silence your mind…
Uttitha Hasta Padangustasana - good to find a steady gazing point on something not moving in this one.

I love love love the balance poses. Life is like a balance act, 24/7… We continuously work on adjusting our balance according to changing circumstances… Did you realize when in a balance pose you are not 100% balanced at all; and you need to constantly adjust your posture according to your body’s needs/calling? Well, our daily life is just like that, too.
As they say, change is the only constant and even when we believe we are at our most stable state; we are actually continuously adapting. So, in life and in yoga, when you are in a balance pose you are not relaxed at all (look at the photo: her feet, her knee, her leg muscles… Do they look relaxed to you?); and -well maybe - you should not be. To be balanced requires awareness and as a result (or because of it -I am not sure which comes first) we are open to change, adaptation and the new beginnings. Therefore, the beauty of the balance poses lies in this dilemma: they look so effortless and easy yet at their core they require us to be consciously aware of ourselves and the world around us.
Namaste.
