The real things haven’t changed. It is still best to be honest and truthful; to make the most of what we have; to be happy with simple pleasures; and have courage when things go wrong.
People are fascinated with the origin of things.
“When did the Universe begin?” they ask.
“Where do I come from?”
The answers to questions like these are obvious once you get a little clarity.
When did the Universe begin? Right NOW (if at all).
A clear mind sees that any past is just a thought. There’s no proof for the validity of any thought other than another thought, and even that thought is gone… and then the thought “That thought is gone” is itself gone.
There is only NOW, and even “now” is a thought of the past. Actually, the Universe has no beginning and no end. It’s constantly beginning, and it’s always over.
Where do I come from? From this very thought. Oops: now I’m gone.
“You must live in the present, launch yourself on every wave, find your eternity in each moment. Fools stand on their island of opportunities and look toward another land. There is no other land; there is no other life but this.”
— Henry David Thoreau
Yoga is like music. The rhythm of the body, the melody of the mind, and the harmony of the soul, create the symphony of life.
Some people hope to reach higher states of consciousness from yoga and meditation. It is possible, but requires much practice.
I am not what happened to me, I am what I choose to become.
It’s never too late,
you’re never too old,
you are never too sick,
to start again from scratch.
The center clears. Knowing comes:
The body is not singular like a corpse,
But singular like a salt grain
still in the side of the mountain.
“No need to hurry. No need to sparkle. No need to be anybody but oneself.” —Virginia Woolf
Who am I who speaks, walks, stands, and functions on this elaborate stage known as the world? I should find this out.
Each one has to find his peace from within. And peace to be real must be unaffected by outside circumstances.
You’re alive. Act like it.
You are what you believe yourself to be.
Mind is the basis of everything, of enlightenment as well as illusion.
